I can finally start posting again!

Hello guys!

After a long break and my excuse of not wanting to blog without a proper camera, has come to an end. I finally got my camera and I can start updating my blog more regularly.

Let me catch you guys up with what I have been up to. I traveled from Dubai back to Pakistan- stayed a few days at my house in the city and decided to go back to where I'm actually from, Dir. (Dir is in the KPK province bordering andconnecting Chitral through the Lowari Pass, Swat and Afghanistan. Yep, I'm a Pashtun!) So, my brother, sister in law, niece and my cousin packed and headed out to the north west!

A Little Update

I realize in the last couple of weeks, I have gone completely MIA. It's not because I haven't had anything to blog about, but it is because I feel like without a decent camera the hard work I put into my looks doesn't get captured.

I have been using my Iphone camera to photograph all my products and looks- it does a decent job, especially when I take pictures in natural light but I feel it doesn't do justice to what I am capable of.

So, I have decided until I go back home to Pakistan, which I will be next month and where I do have a DSLR (which I forgot to bring back with me), I wont do any blog posts.

However, I still wanted to update you guys. I don't have much going on in my life, just the usual, chilling in Dubai, watching some Cricket and gorging on food! I'm looking forward to going to Pakistan next month, having bonfires and wearing nice winter clothes!

I feel like I should attach some photos as well- so that is exactly what I am going to do. These pictures are from my Instagram, so do check out my profile there. And follow me! Who doesn't like to be followed right?? My Instagram handle is - fsalim6, and let me know you've come from here!!

Laura Mercier- Ambre Vanille Souffle Body Creme

The other day I went to the mall to pop into Bath and Body Works to buy the lotion I'm seriously in love with but they were sold out. That left me in a little pickle, I had no idea what to buy as moisturizer.
So here's the thing, I'm not fussy about brands, and normally I don't like paying a small fortune for bath and body products but I do like products that smell good!

FOTD - Purple Smokey Eye

It dawned on me today, I haven't done a dark, colorful eye in the longest time. I mostly stick to my neutrals and I wanted a little bit of change and I thought to myself, why the heck not do something colorful and bold. So, voila, here I am all purple and smokey!

Sephora Time Again

For a person like me, who spends an unhealthy amount of money, Sephora is a place best to be avoided. A couple of days ago I went to the mall because I'm in desperate need of new clothes but guess what I did instead? Yep, popped into Sephora.

I'm back!

First and foremost I'd like to apologize for neglecting my blog the past month or so. I have been extremely busy with some other stuff.

After spending almost 3 months in Pakistan, I'm back in Dubai. What's the first thing I did when I came back? Shop, obviously.

Here are some of the things I purchased, a mini haul if you'd like to call it!

Makeup Love

I've been home all day with nothing to do. In order to curb my boredom, I grabbed a bunch of makeup and started painting my face. I had nothing in particular in mind, I just went along with my instinct and created this.

I was invited to an Iftar dinner tonight and whilst I was getting ready I thought to myself, hmmm why don't I do an OOTD? So here I am.

It's a very casual outfit, as I wasn't going anywhere fancy, just a friends flat to have dinner.

I wore a 3/4 sleeved top from Forever21 which has sequence from the shoulder pad towards the arm. I doubt you can get this anymore as I got this a very long time back.

Liebster Award

A few weeks ago the lovely Elizabeth from Beauty and Beyond tagged me in the Liebster Award. You should definitely check her blog out if you like makeup or anything beauty related. I think the Liebster Award is such a cool idea to get all the newer bloggers introduced to one another.

The Liebster Award is for bloggers with under 200 followers. Here are the rules:

  1. Answer the 11 questions that the person that tagged you asked.
  2. Choose 11 or more bloggers with under 200 followers (no tag-backs) and give the person that tagged you a shout out as a thank you.
  3. Ask the blogs that you picked 11 new questions (my answers and tagged blogs below)
  4. Contact the people that you tagged to let them know.

Here are the answers to the questions I was asked.

1. What is your favorite makeup product?
Diorskin Forever Foundation. Been using it for yours, hands down the best foundation ever!

2. If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go?
I have been wanting to go to Bora Bora for years now.

3. What is something you couldn't live without?
My family no doubt. More specifically my 2 brothers, sister in law, niece and my grandma,

4. What is something people may not know about you?
I am bow legged. Not very extreme but it's definitely there.

Eye shadow probably, since you could still use other products to make you look good.

6. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand?

7. What is your favorite part about blogging?
Being able to share my passion with others and learning and making new friends along the way.

8. Describe your style.
Very hard to pinpoint. I'm mostly in casuals- Leggings, Tops, Jeans but I love to dress up when I go out in the evenings. So probably casual/feminine?

9. Who is someone that you look up to?
No one in particular to be very honest.

10. What inspired you to begin blogging?
The inspiration definitely came from so many different, amazing blogs that made me learn so much more about what I love. Makeup. And that definitely inspired me to join this world.

11. What is your favorite song at the moment?
People are Strange- The Doors. (4 decades old song, but it's been my favorite I listen to once a day at least.)

Here are your questions.

  1. What is your favorite before going to bed ritual?

  4. What makeup product do you think is a must have?
  5. What workouts do you do, if you do, to keep fit?
  6. Beauty or brains?
  7. What would your dream country be to live in?
  8. Yacht or a private plane?
  9. Favorite genre of music?

Sleek - Showstoppers I-Divine Palette

I have been a long fan of Sleek eye shadow palettes. They are cheap and they are highly pigmented which makes them totally worth buying. As a result, I bought myself the Sleek - Showstoppers I-Divine Palette which I ordered this from the Sleek website.

O.P.I Nail Polishes

I have never been much of a nail polish collector. Therefore I normally go for a mani/pedi to a salon every few weeks to fix up my nails and color them. This habit has proved for me to be way too pricey especially in a city like Dubai, where I live by the way, as it is quite an expensive place.
What I have decided to do is instead of going to a salon every time I want a different color is that I buy some nail polishes.
A few weeks ago, I bought the Caviar Manicure by Ciate in navy blackish color and when I applied it
I felt that the formula for the nail polish was too watery. But when I put the second coat on of the nail polish it surprisingly went on very well, then I just poured the small caviar beads on to the wet nail. The end result was absolutely beautiful.
I don't have a picture of it, but next time I do it I will be sure to upload it here.

Now that I am back in Pakistan for my summer holidays, I ordered seven nail polishes online, all from O.P.I. One base coat, one top coat and five color polishes.

The colors I got are:

O.P.I - Aphrodite's Pink Nightie

O.P.I - Chicago Champagne Toast
*picture not taken by me
O.P.I - Grand Canyon Sunset

*picture not taken  by me
O.P.I - Italian Love Affair

O.P.I - Samoan Sand

I received my package today, and when I got my hands on it, I was like a little kid in a candy store. I just wanted to try all of them, but I settled on Samoan Sand.

Samoan Sand goes on very sheer, so if you want a bit more coverage this might not be for you unless you have loads of time for multiple coats.

I went for three coats of Samoan Sand, with a base coat and finished it off with a top coat. OMG! I am so in love with this color. I'm a huge sucker for nude/neutral colors and this one does my fix, quite brilliantly.

This is how it looks on me with flash and without a flash in a room.

Sephora Time!

My apologies for not updating for a long time. That is because I haven't really bought anything to let you guys know of.
But I figured it was time to do some makeup therapy, and decrease my bank balance- so I went to Sephora.
I did not go insanely crazy but I bought 3 products.

1. Dior Skin Forever Foundation in number 30. (Which is a shade darker for me, but it works)

I have been using this foundation for years. It's one of my favorite full coverage foundations ever, and nothing has come close to it. I tend to use this foundation mostly in the evenings or when I have to get dressed up as I feel it gives you a flawless finish.
I have quite oily skin and I have noticed even after a night out this foundation does not budge at all. I do not wear face primers, although I do wear eye primers occasionally.

Order Received from Sukar!

I have been completely obsessed with shopping online for the past couple of years. So when I found out about a website that sells products on a discounted rate, I had to go check it out.

I went through the site a couple of times looking for things that I would use and I finally found 2 that I liked.

I ordered a Lancome Lipstick in L'Absolu Rouge and a Stilla eye shadow palette.

I received the package in 2 days and I absolutely love the Stilla palette. The lipstick on the other hand, reeks of expiration. Regardless of the smell, I tried it. First of all, the lipstick is so dry, it doesn't even go on smoothly and secondly the smell- it is unbearable as well as the taste. I had to wipe it off immediately.
