FOTD - Purple Smokey Eye

It dawned on me today, I haven't done a dark, colorful eye in the longest time. I mostly stick to my neutrals and I wanted a little bit of change and I thought to myself, why the heck not do something colorful and bold. So, voila, here I am all purple and smokey!

For this look I used:

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude
Sleek I-Divine Palette - Showstoppers
Guerlain Quad Palette (limited edition)
Benefit Watt's Up Highlighter
Illamasqua Velvet Blush in Sleek
Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in 02 light/medium
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Givenchy Magic Khol Eye Liner Pencil in Black
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara

After moisturizing my face, I used my hands to apply the tinted moisturizer. Lately I have been using my hands to apply foundation with my hands as I feel it gets the job done faster and I can really blend the product. I feel that sometimes foundation brushes can leave streaks, and nobody wants that!

Then I moved on to my eyebrows, using a dark brown eye shadow and an angled brush I filled those bad boys in.

After my eyebrows, I applied a little Urban Decay Primer on my lids to keep the eye shadow from creasing.

From the Guerlain Quad I used the lavender color all over my lids, then from the Sleek I-Divine Showstopper palette I used the sparkly purple and applied that on my lid, blending each time I applied it.

Then with a flat brush I applied the black from the same palette on the outer corner of my lids and blended that inwards all the way to the crease.

After I did the lids, I lined my waterline with the Givenchy Khol pencil, and with a pencil brush smudged that under my eye. With the same pencil brush I took the purple I used earlier and lined my under eye over the black pencil.

For concealer I used Benefit's Boi-ing concealer in #2, with a domed shaped brush I applied that under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, and on my cupid's bow.

Using my Hoola bronzer, I contoured my cheekbones, all the way around my hairline and my jawline. After that, I got the Watt's Up highlighter and applied that in the middle of my forehead and cheeks.

Then, I used my Illamasqua velvet blush in Sleek- I used my fingers to apply a little on the apples of my cheek and used a blush brush to blend it with the rest of the product that I had applied earlier.

Finally, I applied my Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara to finish of the look.

For my lips I just used an old light brown lipstick and topped it off with Dazzleglass from MAC.
